Manage ticket type lists

C
Written by Customer Success

Open a ticket type list to see its members, move registrants in or out, change its name and settings, or delete it. Every registrant is on exactly one ticket type list, so putting someone on a list always moves them out of their current one.

Before you start

  • You need to be an organization admin or an event admin.

  • Changes apply at once. If the event is in progress, joined attendees whose networking turns on or off because of a change get a push notification and an in-app notification.

  • Warning: Deleting a list can't be undone. Content limited only to that list becomes available to everyone, except featured tiles, which become hidden from everyone.

Where to find it

People > Lists > Ticket type > select the list name in the admin panel. The list has three tabs: Members, Permissions & access and Settings.

The header shows Ticket type, the list name and description, the number of members, the attendance type and the list ID with a copy button. All lists takes you back to the table.

The Members tab

The table shows Member (name and email address), Status (Joined or Invited) and Actions. Invited means the registrant has not joined yet. Search by name, email address, company name or title. Select a name to open the registrant.

Move registrants into this list

  1. On the Members tab, select Move members. The Move members panel lists every registrant of the event with their current ticket type list.

  2. Search for and select the registrants. People already on this list show "Already in list" and can't be selected.

  3. Select Move N to this list.

  4. Confirm with Move. The confirmation says "These registrants will be removed from their current ticket type list."

The message "Registrants moved" confirms it.

Move members to another list

  1. On the Members tab, do one of these:

    • For one person, select the ⋮ button in the Actions column, then Move to another list.

    • For several, select their checkboxes. The table header changes to "N members selected". Select Move to….

  2. In Move members to another list, under Choose a ticket type list, choose the destination.

  3. Select OK.

You can also move people from People > Registrants: select their rows, then Assign to a list (N). See Manage registrants in the Registrants tab.

What a move does:

  • The person gets the new list's permissions, attendance type and profile badge. Settings from their custom lists still override the ticket type list.

  • People who claimed a seat on the person's invitation move to the new list too.

  • They lose content limited to the old list, unless another of their lists has access.

  • Brella sends no email. Changing Ticket type list in the registrant's Registration details works differently: it re-sends the invitation email if invitations are published and the invitation has a free seat.

  • In hybrid events, if the attendance type changes, Brella updates the meeting points of the person's accepted meetings. Meetings where every participant is virtual lose their meeting point.

Change the list settings

Open the Settings tab. Text fields save when you leave them. Attendance type saves when you choose a value. The message "Saved" confirms each change.

Setting

What it does

Default

The name in the admin panel. Up to 45 characters, unique in the event.

The name you entered

Display name

"Shown to attendees. Defaults to the list name." Up to 45 characters. Attendees see it as Invite type on in-app invite cards. Admin panel list pickers and tables show the List name. The lists table adds "Displayed as <display name> in the apps" when the two differ.

Empty (the list name is used)

Description

"This is only shown in the Admin Panel". Up to 120 characters. Appears under the name in the lists table.

Empty

Attendance type

Hybrid events only: In-Person, Virtual or Hybrid.

The type chosen at creation

List ID

The ID to use in the ticket_type_list_id column of a CSV import and in integrations. Select the copy button.

—

Delete a ticket type list

  1. Open the Settings tab.

  2. Under Danger zone, select Delete list.

  3. Read the confirmation, for example "12 members will be moved to the default ticket type list.", and select Delete.

You can also select Delete in the Actions column of the lists table. The confirmation there says "Members in this list will be moved to the default list."

What happens:

  • Every member moves to the default list and gets its permissions.

  • Registration links that used this list now put new registrants on the default list.

  • The list is removed from every session, page, stream, story, announcement and networking area limited to it. Those that were limited only to this list become available to everyone.

  • A featured tile limited only to this list becomes hidden from everyone. Change the tile's Gating before you delete the list.

  • Custom emails that targeted only this list have no recipients left.

  • Other lists that named this list under Specific lists in Allow sending requests to or Allow receiving requests from lose it. If it was the only list named, that setting now blocks all requests.

The default list can't be deleted. Its Danger zone reads "The default list can't be deleted." and Delete list is disabled.

What attendees see

  • The Display name, or the list name if there is none, as Invite type on the in-app invite card.

  • The List name, not the display name, in the meeting request limit notice on the People page ("Your ticket"). Use a list name you are comfortable showing to attendees.

  • The profile badge and permission effects. See Set permissions and access for a list.

Troubleshooting

A registrant shows "Already in list" in the Move members panel
They are on this list already. Nothing needs to be done.

A member doesn't get the permission you set on this list
One of their custom lists sets the same permission. Open the registrant from the Members tab. For joined registrants, the Joined user tab lists their Custom lists with each list's priority. The lines under Ticket type (- Allows lead scanning, - Allows networking, - Meeting requests limit) show this ticket type list's own settings, not the result after custom lists. See How permissions work when someone is on several lists.

The Delete button is grayed out
The list is the default list.
