Export the event summary CSV

C
Written by Customer Success

The organization's Home page lists your events with their attendee, engagement and meeting totals. From it you export a CSV file with one row of summary figures per event. Brella emails you the file.

Before you start

  • You need to be an organization admin or an event admin. Event admins see and export only the events they were added to.

  • Most figures count attendees: registrants who have joined the event. The column tables say where a figure counts something else.

Where to find it

Open your organization in the admin panel. Home shows the Events list.

Read the events list

Each row shows the Date (start date and number of days), the event name with its status, and these columns:

Column

What it counts

Country

The country set in the event's Details.

Attendees

Attendees who joined.

Engagement

Meeting requests + open chats that have not turned into meetings + chat messages.

Meeting Requests

Meeting requests in every status, draft meetings included. Open chats are not counted.

Meetings

Accepted meetings.

Select the three-dot button at the end of the table header to show or hide Country, Attendees, Engagement, Meeting Requests and Meetings. The choice is saved for you.

Search with Event name. Clear Show past events to hide ended events. Choose 10 to 120 rows per page. Selecting a row opens the event.

Export the summary

For one event:

  1. Select the three-dot button at the end of the event's row.

  2. Select Export CSV summary.

For several events:

  1. Select the checkbox of each event. The table header changes to "<n> events selected".

  2. Select Export CSV summary in the header.

The message "Your CSV export will be delivered by email shortly." confirms the request. The email has the subject "Event report" and a zip named event-report-<date and time>.zip with one file, event-report.csv. Each exported event is one row, sorted by start date.

Example: compare two events

This fictional example shows a few columns from the summary:

event_name,meeting_requests,meetings,meeting_acceptance_rate
Spring Forum,100,25,0.25
Autumn Forum,200,80,0.4

For Spring Forum, 25 accepted meetings ÷ 100 requests = 0.25, or 25%. Autumn Forum’s 0.4 means 40%.

Autumn Forum has more requests and a higher accepted share. Compare events at a similar stage, since pending and draft requests are included.

Accepted meetings are bookings. These figures do not confirm that people attended them.

Columns in the file

Ratios are decimals rounded to 3 places, for example 0.25 or 0.333, not percentages. They are 0 when the denominator is 0.

Event

Column

What it contains

event_name

Event name.

organization_id, organization_name

The organization.

event_date

Start date.

duration_days

Days from the start date to the end date, both included.

Registration

Column

What it counts

invited_seats

Invite places created for the event. Each registrant you add or import has 1 place, or more if you gave them more seats. People who join a public event with the join code use no place.

invites_claimed

Invite places that were used to join.

signup_rate

invites_claimed divided by invited_seats.

total_attendees

Attendees who joined.

opted_in_to_networking

Attendees who did not opt out of networking.

attendees_with_meetings

People in at least one accepted meeting.

companies

Different company names on attendees' profiles. Names count as different when spelled differently. An empty company name also counts.

pre-engagement_rate

Meeting requests with activity before the event divided by the other meeting requests. Before the event means before the first session starts, or before 08:00 on the start date if the schedule is empty. The value can be greater than 1.

Matchmaking

Each column counts the registrants who selected at least one interest with that goal, whether or not they have joined. The count also includes invites, sessions, speakers and sponsors that have an interest with that goal. Each counts once per column, so a column can be higher than your number of registrants.

Column

Goal attendees pick

networking

Network about this

buy/explore

Explore getting or buying

sell/offer

Offer or sell this

invest

Invest in this

get_investment

Get investment in this

Accepted meetings.

total_engagement

Meeting requests + open chats that have not turned into meetings + chat messages.

engagement_per_attendees_with_meetings

total_engagement divided by the number of networking attendees: attendees with an accepted meeting or who received a chat message. Same as Avg. engagement per networking attendee on the event Home page. Rounded to 2 decimals.

meeting_requests

Meeting requests in every status, draft meetings included.

chat_messages

Chat messages in meetings and open chats. A message in a group meeting counts once for each participant who receives it.

meeting_acceptance_rate

meetings divided by meeting_requests.

Streams

Column

What it counts

streams

Streams of the event, hidden ones included.

speakers

Speakers of the event.

total_schedule_traffic_time

Sum of the session lengths in minutes.

session_views

sponsor_reps

Joined attendees linked to a sponsor as a representative.

total_booth_page_views

Carousel slide views across all booths.

Attendance

Column

What it counts

virtual, in_person, hybrid

Attendees by the Attendance type of their ticket type list.

Limits

  • The export is only emailed. It is not downloaded in the browser.

  • The file covers the whole event. It has no date range.

  • Figures use the same definitions as the event Home page. See Home page statistics reference.

Troubleshooting

Export CSV summary is missing from the header
Select at least one checkbox. The header changes to "<n> events selected" and shows the button.

The email hasn't arrived
Check the spam folder of the email address you use for the admin panel, then request the export again.

session_views is 0 although sessions were watched
The attendees watched in the mobile app, or opened the stream in a new browser tab. Brella records time on a session only while its stream plays in the web app, and this column needs more than 60 seconds.
