Matchmaking > Statistics shows how often attendees selected each interest and goal. You can export every selection as a CSV file by email, and download your categories and identity lists from Matchmaking > Settings.
Before you start
You need to be an organization admin or an event admin.
Matchmaking must be on. While it is off, Matchmaking shows only the start page.
Where to find it
Statistics and the selections export: Matchmaking > Statistics in the admin panel.
Categories and identity exports: Matchmaking > Settings, section Export.
Read the statistics
The top row has a Total box and one box per intent: Networking, Trading, Investment, Recruitment and Mentoring. Each box counts selections, not people. An attendee who selects 5 interests with a networking goal adds 5 to Networking.
Under the boxes, choose what the table shows:
Interests (default): one row per interest.
Categories: one row per category, adding up the selections of its interests. The first column is still titled Interest.
All (default): one column per goal, for every intent.
Networking, Trading, Investment, Recruitment or Mentoring: only the goal columns of that intent, with a bar for each value.
The goal columns use these headings:
Intent | Columns |
Networking | Network |
Trading | Buy/Explore, Sell/Offer |
Investment | Invest in it, Get Investment |
Recruitment | Get a job, Hire someone |
Mentoring | Be a mentor, Find a mentor |
Counts include every selection of the interest, not only those of joined attendees. Registrants who haven't joined yet, invites, and the interests tagged on sponsors, sessions and speakers also count.
With Interests and All selected, the Unique Attendees column counts each attendee, registrant, invite, sponsor, session or speaker once per interest, whatever the goal. The highest value in each column is highlighted. Select a column heading to sort by it.
Questions the table answers
Which topics draw the most interest: Interests and All, sorted by Unique Attendees.
What attendees want to buy and what they offer: Interests and Trading, sorted by Buy/Explore or Sell/Offer. Compare the result with your sponsors' offerings.
Which categories matter most: Categories and All.
Use the results after the event
Compare the strongest Buy/Explore topics with the offerings represented by your sponsors and exhibitors. Use gaps to plan the next event's sponsor mix. Popular Networking topics can suggest a follow-up session or community discussion.
Check the counts' scope before interpreting them. The table includes more than joined attendees; the selections CSV described next contains attendee selections only.
You can share an aggregate recap of popular networking topics with attendees after the event. Explain which data you used and what the counts represent. Selections are not a count of unique people. Share topic totals rather than attendee-level rows. See Plan your event communications.
Export the selections
Open Matchmaking > Statistics.
Select Export data (.csv).
The admin panel shows "Interests report sent to <your email>". Brella emails you a zip file named <event code>-interests-<date>.csv.zip. The email subject is "<event name> - A report of interests".
The CSV has one row per selection, so an attendee appears once for each interest and goal they selected. It contains attendees' selections only. Rows are in the order the selections were made.
Column | Contents |
| The attendee's email address |
| First and last name |
| The category of the interest |
| The interest |
| The goal, as shown on profiles: "Networking about", "Exploring getting or buying", "Offering or selling", "Seeking a job in", "Offering a job in", "Seeking investment for", "Investing in", "Looking for a mentor in" or "Mentoring in" |
The Total box also counts invites and the interests tagged on sponsors, sessions and speakers, so the CSV can have fewer rows.
Export categories and identity lists
Open Matchmaking > Settings.
Under Export, select Export CSV next to Export matchmaking data. The browser downloads
brella-matchmaking-<event name>.If identity is on, select Export CSV next to Export identity data. The browser downloads
brella-matchmaking-identity-<event name>.
The admin panel names these files without the .csv extension. If the saved file has no extension, add .csv to the name before you open it.
These files contain your setup, not attendee selections:
Export matchmaking data: each category on its own row, followed by its interests with their intents. The layout is the same as the import file, so you can import it into another event. See Import matchmaking categories from a CSV file.
Export identity data: a header row with your labels for persona, industry and function, then one column per list. See Set up identity: personas, industries and functions.
Other places with matchmaking data
The event Home page has a Matchmaking selections card with the same boxes. See Home page statistics reference.
The event summary CSV has one column per goal. See Export the event summary CSV.
The CRM export lists each attendee's interests per goal. See Export registrants, open chats and CRM data.
