Give sponsors matchmaking tags so attendees see which sponsors share their interests and can filter sponsors by tag. You can also give each sponsor a country and a state or city, so attendees can filter sponsors by location.
Before you start
You need to be an organization admin or an event admin. Sponsor admins don't see the Matchmaking and Location sections of the sponsor form.
Tags are your event's matchmaking interests. Set up matchmaking categories and interests first. See Enable matchmaking.
Where to find it
Switches: Sponsors > Settings > Advanced in the admin panel.
Tags and locations: Sponsors > Sponsors, select the sponsor's name, then Edit Details.
Turn on matchmaking for sponsors
Open Sponsors > Settings.
In Advanced, turn on Matchmaking for sponsors. The change saves at once.
The sponsor form now has a Matchmaking section.
Add tags to a sponsor
Open Sponsors > Sponsors and select the sponsor's name.
Select Edit Details. The Update sponsor drawer opens.
In Matchmaking, next to Tags, select Edit. The Tags drawer lists your matchmaking categories and their interests.
Select each tag that describes the sponsor. Select a tag again to remove it.
Select Save. The form shows the number of tags, for example "3 tags selected".
Select Update.
Add a location to a sponsor
Open Sponsors > Settings and, in Advanced, turn on Location for sponsors.
Open Sponsors > Sponsors, select the sponsor's name and select Edit Details.
In Location, enter the Country.
If needed, enter the State / city / other. A country is required when you fill in this field.
Select Update.
Use the same spelling of a country for every sponsor. The Location filter lists each spelling as a separate option, for example "United States" and "USA".
What attendees see
With Matchmaking for sponsors on, in the mobile app and the web app:
The sponsor's tags show on its card in the sponsor list, on its booth page, and on sponsor cards in sessions.
Tags that match the attendee's own interests are highlighted and listed first.
The sponsor list has a Tags filter with the tags your sponsors have.
With Location for sponsors on:
The booth page shows the location after the industry, for example "Finland, Helsinki".
The sponsor list has a Location filter with each country, and each state or city as "Helsinki, Finland".
Turning a switch off hides the tags or locations in the app. The values you entered stay saved.
If natural language search is on, the Discovery page (or the name you gave it) ranks sponsors under Featured for you by how well their tags match the attendee's interests. See Turn on natural language search and the Discovery tab.
Limits
Tags come from your matchmaking interests. You can't add tags that aren't interests in your event.
Sponsors without tags or without a location don't show in the results of the matching filter.
