Group related sessions under one parent session. The schedule shows only the parent; its page lists the child sessions in a section you name, for example "Session times" or "Workshops".
Before you start
You need to be an organization admin or an event admin.
Parent and children are content slots. Networking slots can't be linked.
Only one level is possible: a child can't have children of its own, and a session that already is a child can't become a parent.
The Child sessions tab states a limit of 100 children per parent.
Warning: Child sessions disappear from the schedule as separate cards. Attendees reach them through the parent's page, through search, and through My Schedule once they bookmark or register.
Where to find it
Content > Schedule > Timeslots in the admin panel. Select Edit on the session that becomes the parent, then open the Child sessions tab.
Link existing sessions as children
Create the parent and the child sessions as content slots. See Create content slots.
Select Edit on the parent and open Child sessions.
Turn on Session has child sessions.
Enter a Section name. Up to 100 characters. Default "Session times".
Under Add child sessions, type in Search for a child session and choose a session. Repeat for each child. The list offers content slots that are not a child yet, not in the table already and not this session.
Select Update.
The children appear in a table with Date & Time, Title (opens the child's editor in a new browser tab), Track and Location, sorted by start time. Select Remove to unlink one.
Create a child session from the parent
In Child sessions, select New content slot.
In Create new content slot, enter the Title, check the Date, set Start time and End time, and choose a Track. The date and start time are prefilled from the parent; the default track is preselected.
Select Create. The session is created and added to the children table at once.
Select Update on the parent to save the link.
The new child has only the fields from this dialog. Open it with Edit later to add a description, speakers or other details.
Unlink or remove
To unlink one child, select Remove in its row and then Update. The session stays in the schedule as a normal session.
To unlink all, turn off Session has child sessions and select Update.
Deleting the parent keeps the children; they become normal sessions again.
Settings
Setting | What it does | Default |
Session has child sessions | Shows the section name and the children picker. | Off |
Section name | Heading of the children section on the parent's page, shown with the count, for example "Session times (4)". | "Session times" |

In the Timeslots table
Children are nested under their parent. The parent row shows a plus or minus icon with the number of children; select the row to expand or collapse. The column header toggles all parents at once. A child row shows an arrow icon with the tooltip "Parent: <title>". A child's Child sessions tab says "This timeslot cannot have child sessions" with a link Edit parent timeslot.
What attendees see
The parent's card on the Schedule page (or the name your organizer gave it) has a stacked look and a folder icon. Child sessions have no card of their own in the schedule.
The parent's page has a section titled with your Section name and the count. It lists up to 25 children; with more, a Show all (N) button shows the rest. Each child card shows the title, the time and an RSVP tag when the child uses registration. Selecting a card opens the child's page.
When attendees filter the schedule, a parent stays visible if any child matches. The section then says "N of M sessions match your filters" and lists only the matching children, highlighted. Show all (M) shows the rest.
A child's page shows Part of: <parent title> with the number of sessions. Selecting it opens the parent.
Bookmarks and reservations on a child work as on any session, and the child appears in My Schedule.
The mobile app and the web app show the same screens.
Limits
The form states "Link existing sessions as child sessions under this parent. Max: 100." Keep parents under 100 children.
One level only ("Only one level of parent-child nesting is supported.").
Parent and children must be in the same event. They can be in different tracks and at different times.
Networking slots can't be parents or children.
Troubleshooting
A session doesn't show up in the search
It is already a child of another session, it is a networking slot, or it is the session you are editing. Unlink it from its current parent first.
The Child sessions tab only says "This timeslot cannot have child sessions"
The session is a child. Select Edit parent timeslot to work on the parent, or remove the session from its parent first.
Attendees can't find a child session in the schedule
Children are not listed as separate cards. Point attendees to the parent's page, or unlink the session.
