Read a sponsor's booth traffic analytics

Written by Customer Success

The Traffic Analytics tab of a sponsor shows who opened the booth in the app, which carousel slides they viewed, and for how long.

Before you start

  • You need to be an organization admin or an event admin. Sponsor admins can open the tab only when Traffic analytics is on for their booth.

  • Slide data needs carousel slides. Add them with Edit Virtual Booth in Sponsor deck (carousel).

Where to find it

Sponsors > Sponsors, select the sponsor's name, then open the Traffic Analytics tab.

On the sponsor's Overview tab, View all visitors under Most active visitors opens the same tab. The button shows when the booth has visitors.

What Brella records

For signed-in attendees in the mobile app and the web app:

  • A booth visit each time the attendee opens the booth page.

  • Time spent on the booth page.

  • A slide view when a slide shows. The first slide counts when the booth opens. Other slides count when the attendee moves to them.

  • Viewing time for the slide on screen, for both slide types: Image (upload) and Embed web page / video / stream (URL). Time runs while the slide is the current slide of the open booth page.

If the attendee comes back to the same slide within 2 minutes and has started no other tracked viewing since the earlier one, Brella continues the earlier time entry.

Brella does not record:

  • Side panel integrations, representatives, products, downloads and sessions on the booth.

  • Visitors of the sponsor widget on your website.

Read the visitors table

The Visitors card shows the number of attendees and one row for each.

Column

What it means

Name

The attendee. "Deleted user" if the account no longer exists.

Job Title, Company

From the attendee's profile.

Total Time Spent in Booth

Time the attendee spent on the booth page. It is never lower than Total Content View Time.

Total Content View Time

Total viewing time across all slides.

Total Content View Count

Booth visits plus slide views.

  • Rows are ordered by time, then by count, highest first.

  • The tab shows 20 visitors per page. Change the page size at the bottom of the table.

See each slide and time entry

Expand a visitor to see one row per slide the attendee viewed, most viewed first.

Content Title

The slide title.

Url

The embedded address or the image address.

Content View Time

Time this slide was on the attendee's screen.

Content View Count

How many times the attendee viewed this slide.

Expand a slide to see each time entry with Start Time, End Time and Duration, in the event's time zone. End Time is empty while the slide is still on screen.

Booth visits are counted in Total Content View Count but have no row of their own.

One visitor expanded to show slide rows, and one slide expanded to show Start Time, End Time and Duration

Export the data

Select Export Data (.csv). The message "Your CSV export will be delivered by email shortly." confirms the request. Brella emails you a zip with 2 files:

  • <sponsor>-interactions.csv: one row per booth visit, slide view or time entry. Booth visits have Booth in content_title and type.

  • <sponsor>-visitors.csv: one row per attendee, with total time in total_time_spent_in_booth_seconds.

See Sponsors & booths traffic report for all columns and the export for all sponsors.

Let sponsor admins see their traffic analytics

Traffic analytics is off for new sponsors.

  1. Open the sponsor and select Edit Details.

  2. In Booth Control, turn on Traffic analytics. Its hint says "When enabled, sponsor admins can view traffic analytics of their booth."

  3. Select Update.

Update sponsor drawer, Booth Control section with the Traffic analytics switch

Booth Control has the Admin Only tag, so sponsor admins don't see it. You can also set it on import with the Enable Traffic Analytics column of the sponsor template (yes, x, enabled, checked or true turns it on).

When the switch is off, the Traffic Analytics tab is disabled for sponsor admins. Its tooltip says "To see your booth's traffic analytics, reach out to the event organizer." The Most active visitors card on their Overview tab is hidden too.

Limits

  • Only the booth page and its carousel slides are recorded.

  • Only signed-in attendees in the mobile app and the web app are recorded.

  • Data appears per booth. The same link used in another booth, a stream or a session is counted separately there.

Troubleshooting

The tab has no visitors
No attendee has opened the booth in the app yet.

A sponsor admin can't open the Traffic Analytics tab
Traffic analytics is off for that booth. Turn it on in Edit Details > Booth Control.
