Add links to forms, surveys, brochures or any web page at the bottom of a sponsor's booth. In the admin panel the list is called Side bar integrations (slido, etc). In the mobile app and the web app the links appear in a section named Links, and each link opens in the browser. The sponsor widget on your website can embed them in a side panel.
Before you start
You need to be an organization admin or an event admin. Sponsor admins can manage the links of their own booth from Booths.
The mobile app and the web app do not embed these pages. They show a list of links. Use the normal page address, not an embed address.
The sponsor widget embeds the pages in frames when its Sidebar integrations option is set to Show. See "What website visitors see".
Warning: a link can pass the attendee's name, email and ID to the linked site. See the section "Pre-fill a form with attendee details".
Where to find it
Sponsors > Sponsors > [sponsor] > View > Edit Virtual Booth in the admin panel. The Virtual Booth drawer has two lists: Sponsor deck (carousel) and Side bar integrations (slido, etc).
Add a link
Open Sponsors > Sponsors and select View on the sponsor.
Select Edit Virtual Booth.
Under Side bar integrations (slido, etc), select New. The Side bar integration drawer opens.
Enter a Title. Attendees see it as the name of the link.
Enter the Url, starting with
https://.Select Create. Brella shows "Media item added successfully."
Slide type is fixed to Embed web page / video / stream (URL) for this list. You can't add an image here.
Edit, reorder or delete a link
Each row shows the site's icon, the Title, the Url and an Edit button. Select Edit to change the title or the address, then select Update. Brella shows "Changes saved successfully."
Drag a row to change the order. The new order saves at once with "Updated successfully."
To delete a link, select Edit, then Delete, then confirm "Are you sure?". Brella shows "Media item deleted successfully."
URL rules
Rule | Detail |
Scheme |
|
Host | A domain name with a dot and a letter-only ending of at least 2 letters, for example |
Blocked | Any other scheme, for example |
Count | No limit on the number of links per booth. |
Brella checks the format of the address when you save it. It does not check whether the page exists or allows embedding.
Pre-fill a form with attendee details
The mobile app and the web app replace these placeholders in the address when an attendee opens the booth:
Placeholder | Replaced with |
| The attendee's registrant ID |
| First name |
| Last name |
| The attendee's account email. Empty if the account has no email. |
Example: https://example.com/survey?email=BRELLA_ATTENDEE_EMAIL&name=BRELLA_ATTENDEE_FIRST_NAME.
The sponsor widget does not replace placeholders. Website visitors are not signed in, so the placeholder text stays in the address.
Warning: the attendee's details are sent to the linked site in the address. Tell sponsors to use this only with sites that are allowed to receive that data.
What attendees see
The section Links with the number of links, for example "Links (3)", at the bottom of the booth, after the booth sections.
One card per link with the site's icon, the title and the address. The address is shown with the placeholders already replaced.
Selecting a card opens the address outside the booth: in the device browser on the mobile app, in the browser on the web app.
The section is hidden when the booth has no links.
Opening a link is not counted in the booth's Traffic Analytics. Only booth visits and carousel slides are tracked.
What website visitors see
The sponsor widget shows the links only when Sidebar integrations is set to Show under Sponsors > Widget. The default is Hide.
On wide screens, the sponsor's pop-up gets a side panel with one tab per link, named after the link's Title. The page is embedded in the tab.
On narrow screens, the pop-up shows a tab row under the company details: Information plus one tab per link. Selecting a link tab embeds the page full width, with a Back button.
A page that refuses to be embedded stays blank in the widget.
Limits
In the apps, links open outside the booth. Embed-only addresses, for example
/embedform links, open as a bare page in the browser. The address shown to attendees in the apps is the final address. Links with placeholders show the attendee's own data in the card.
The order is the same for every attendee.
Troubleshooting
"This field must be a valid url."
The address is incomplete. Enter a full address such as https://example.com/page.
"is not a valid URL"
The scheme is not http or https, or the host is an IP address or has no domain ending. Use a normal web address.
The link opens a page that looks broken in the app
The address is an embed address. Use the address of the full page instead.
The page is blank in the sponsor widget
The site does not allow embedding. Use an address the site allows to be embedded, or set Sidebar integrations to Hide under Sponsors > Widget.
