Set ticket quantities in a website widget (V2)

Written by Customer Success

Choose ticket set sizes, maximum quantities and the starting basket for one website widget.

Note: Website widgets V2 are scheduled to launch on 1 November 2026. These steps apply once V2 is available in your event.

Before you start

Prepare the ticket shop and choose its Tickets offered first. See Sell tickets with a website widget (V2).

These settings control this embed's selection controls. They do not set an event-wide purchase limit or replace server-side sales rules.

Set the quantities

  1. Open Widgets > Ticketing and turn on Advanced.

  2. Under Sold in sets, choose One at a time, Same for every ticket, or Per ticket.

  3. For Same for every ticket, enter Set size. For Per ticket, add rows under Set sizes and choose the tickets and Size for each row.

  4. Under Most per order, select Add. Choose the tickets and enter Max.

  5. Under Already in the basket, add the tickets and Qty to select when the shop opens.

  6. Check the starting quantities and the plus/minus controls in preview. Check Desktop and Phone.

  7. Select Copy embed code, or share a new developer link, and update your website.

Each row applies its number to each selected ticket type. A maximum of 6 assigned to 2 ticket types allows up to 6 of each; it is not a combined basket maximum.

With Per ticket, tickets without a set-size row are sold one at a time. Avoid overlapping rows in the same list: the first matching row is used for a ticket's set size, maximum or starting quantity.

Example: sell a ticket in sets of 3

For a General admission ticket, choose Same for every ticket with Set size 3. Add Most per order 5 for that ticket.

The usable quantities are 0 and 3. Another set would make 6, which exceeds the maximum. The builder shows a hint explaining that orders stop at 3.

To allow 2 complete sets, change the maximum to 6. Preview the result before copying the code.

Already in the basket follows the same limits. A starting quantity of 5 with set size 3 and maximum 5 starts at 3. A quantity below one whole set starts at 0.

Check a code when buyers apply it

Use Discount code only in sets to check a set size when buyers enter a code and select Apply.

Leave the separate Discount code > Code field empty while testing this flow, so the buyer can enter a code.

  1. Select Add under Discount code only in sets.

  2. Choose the tickets, enter the existing code and set Size.

  3. Use one row for that code, selecting all tickets it covers.

  4. In preview, choose the tickets and enter the code on Review. Check the result for both a complete and an incomplete set.

For a size of 2, a selected covered ticket quantity of 3 cannot apply the code; a quantity of 4 meets the set check. Each covered ticket type is checked separately.

Changing a covered ticket's quantity clears that set-restricted code. Apply it again after choosing the new quantity. Use Sold in sets as well if all selections must follow the set size.

Remove or correct a rule

Select the row's trash button to remove it. For Sold in sets, choose One at a time to stop setting quantities in groups.

A started row must have tickets and a positive whole number. A discount row also needs the code. Follow Add …, or this row is left out until the row is complete.

Hiding Advanced does not clear its settings. Remove the rows or change their values, then copy or share again. Copy your choices before leaving or switching widget tabs.

Troubleshooting

The quantity cannot reach the maximum
The maximum is not a whole number of sets. Raise or lower it to a multiple of the set size.

A ticket starts at 0 or cannot be selected
Check its starting quantity, set size and maximum together. The maximum must fit at least one whole set.

A rule is missing from the installed widget
Complete every field in the row and copy the embed again. Check that your website uses the new code.
