You can add Q&A, polls, social walls and other tools to Brella by URL. The place where you add the URL decides whether the tool opens inside Brella or in the attendee's browser.
Before you start
You need to be an organization admin or an event admin.
A tool you want to open inside Brella must allow loading inside another website (an iframe). Use the embed URL the tool gives you, not its share URL.
Brella does not store or show the tool's data. Questions, votes and results stay in the tool's own dashboard. Decide who watches that dashboard during the session.
Choose where to put it
For questions during a broadcast, add a Q&A page to the stream side panel. Assign someone to monitor its dashboard.
For a feedback survey after a session, add it to the session’s Links. See Add links to a session.
For a sponsor presentation, add an embeddable slide deck to the booth carousel. See Set up the booth carousel.
Test the chosen page as an attendee before sharing it. A page that requires a separate login still requires that login when opened from Brella.
Places that open the tool inside Brella
Stream side panel. Open Content > Streams, open the saved stream, select Edit Side Panel (Integrations), then New. Enter a Title and a Url and select Create. Attendees get a tab with that title, next to Chat if Enable Stream chat is on: beside the player on web windows 1024 px and wider, below the player on narrower windows and in the mobile app. Tabs follow the order of the items in the drawer.
Sponsor booth carousel. Open the booth under Sponsors, select Edit Virtual Booth, and add a slide of type Embed web page / video / stream (URL). The tool loads inside the carousel slide.
Home page video. Customization > Home Screen > Mobile app welcome media > Video > Embed Video URL. The URL loads at the top of the home page.
Session Stream/Video Url, web app. Watch now on the session opens a page inside the web app that plays the URL. The session's Side Panel items appear there as tabs, next to the session chat if Enable chat is on in Content > Schedule > Settings. The page has Open in new tab for tools that refuse to load inside Brella.
Custom page. Custom content > Custom pages, type Embed a webpage. The page loads inside Brella. If the website refuses to load inside Brella, turn on Open in a new tab; the web app then opens it in a new browser tab, and the mobile app still shows it in the app.
Places that open the tool outside Brella
Session Stream/Video Url, mobile app. Watch now on the session opens the URL in the browser.
Session Side Panel. Items you add with Side Panel when editing a session appear under Links on the session screen and open in the browser. In the web app, they also appear as tabs on the session's video page.
Sponsor booth sidebar. Items under Side bar integrations (slido, etc) in Edit Virtual Booth appear under Links on the booth screen and open in the browser.
Embedding rules
The web app loads embeds in an iframe; the mobile app loads them in an in-app web view that identifies itself as a mobile browser. The tool must work in both.
If the tool restricts embedding by domain, allow the domain your attendees use to open the web app.
Test every tool in the web app and the mobile app before the event. If it does not load inside Brella, use one of the places that open it in the browser, or turn on Open in a new tab for a custom page.
Free public streaming services can show your broadcast to people outside Brella. Check the provider's privacy settings if the content is not public.
Built-in alternatives
Video rooms for workshops, round tables and panels: Content > Breakout rooms. Rooms run on Whereby inside Brella. See Create and Organize Breakout Rooms.
Venue maps: Customization > Maps has Venue map and Networking area map. The page is hidden for virtual events. An interactive map from another provider can be added as a custom page.
