The Stream page is the attendee page that lists your streams. You can give it another name and icon, flag a stream as live on the home page, hide single streams, or turn the whole page off.
Before you start
You need to be an organization admin or an event admin.
The player itself has no branding or layout settings in Brella. Logos, colors and overlays are set in your streaming provider's tools. Brella takes only the embed URL.
Where to find it
Page name and icon: Customization > Tabs
Live flag and visibility per stream: Content > Streams, Streams tab
Turn all streams off: Content > Streams, Settings tab
Rename the Stream page
Open Customization > Tabs.
In the Stream row, enter the new name. Names can have up to 14 characters and must differ from the other tab names (upper and lower case count as the same). An empty name shows "Tab name is required.".
Select the icon next to the name to change it.
Drag the row to change the page's position in the app menu. The home row can't be moved.
Select Save changes. The message "Tabs updated" confirms. If the event is in progress, confirm Editing an on-going event with Apply changes.
The new name appears in the mobile app menu, the web app's left menu, and in the page's empty state ("No <name> yet"). The Tabs preview shows the result.
If the Stream row is striped and shows "This feature is disabled" when you point to it, streams are off. Turn them on first (see Turn streams off and on).
Mark a stream as live
Open Content > Streams and select the stream's row.
Turn on Set the stream to 'Live' and highlight on the homepage.
Select Save changes.
The row now shows a Stream is live badge. Turn the switch off and select Save changes when the stream ends. Brella does not detect whether video is playing; the flag is manual.
What attendees see while the flag is on:
A red card on the home page, "<stream title> is live!", that opens the stream.
A Live label next to the stream in the stream list and above the player.
Web app: a count of live streams on the Stream item in the left menu.
Several streams can be live at once. The home page shows one card per live stream, in the order of the Streams tab. Attendees see cards only for visible streams they are allowed to watch.
Hide one stream
Turn off the switch next to the stream title in the Streams tab. The change is saved at once; Save changes is not needed.
Hidden streams are not sent to attendees. They disappear from the stream list on the next refresh. An attendee who still has the stream open sees "Stream not available" after refreshing.
Turn the switch on to show the stream again. Its settings, chat and side-panel items are kept.
The admin panel has no option to delete a stream. Hiding is the only way to retire one.
Turn streams off and on
Open Content > Streams, then the Settings tab.
Turn off Use streams. The setting saves at once.
The Stream page disappears from the mobile app and the web app. In the admin panel, Content > Streams shows "You have disabled streams!" with a Re-enable streams button, and the Streams, Analytics and Settings tabs are hidden until you select it. As the setting says, "Turning off streams doesn't erase your data": streams, chats, side-panel items and analytics are kept.
Note: Turning off Use streams does not remove the live cards from the home page. Attendees can still open a live stream from its card. Turn off Set the stream to 'Live' and highlight on the homepage. on each live stream before you turn streams off.
To turn streams back on, select Re-enable streams, or open the Settings tab and turn on Use streams.
