Read attendee analytics

Analytics shows how many people joined your event, how many took part in networking, and who was most active. Each networking figure is compared with a Brella average.

Before you start

  • You need to be an organization admin or an event admin.

  • The page counts attendees: registrants who have joined the event. Registrants who have not joined are not counted.

Where to find it

Analytics in the event sidebar of the admin panel.

Top cards

Card

What it counts

Total attendees

Attendees who joined the event. The small line shows the running total over the chart's date range.

Opt-in to networking

Attendees who did not opt out of networking.

Attendees with meetings

Attendees with at least one accepted meeting.

Attendees with chat

Attendees with at least one open chat that got a reply. Open chats that became accepted meetings count under Attendees with meetings instead.

Attendees with chat shows only when Open chat is on in Networking > Settings > Chat & lead scanning.

The doughnut on each networking card shows the share of Total attendees. The label under the number compares that share with a Brella average. Hover over the info icon to see the average, for example "The Brella average is ~72%." The averages are fixed values: about 72% for opt-in, 20.6% for meetings and 15.4% for chat.

Engagement & new attendees chart

The chart shows two running totals by date:

  • Engagement: meeting requests, open chats and chat messages. Draft meetings from managed meetings count as meeting requests.

  • Attendees joined: attendees, by the date their registrant record was created. For invited people that is the invite date, not the day they joined.

By default it runs by day from 7 days before the event's start date to its end date. Change Interval to Day, Week or Month, and set the Date range. The date pickers have Event create date and Event end date shortcuts. Dates after today can't be chosen.

For more detail, see Home page statistics reference.

Attendance

Row

What it counts

Virtual attendees, In-person attendees, Hybrid attendees

Hybrid events only. Share of Total attendees by the attendance type of each attendee's ticket type list.

Sponsor representatives

Attendees linked to at least one sponsor as a representative, and their share of Total attendees.

Returning attendees

Attendees who were also registrants of an earlier event of your organization, matched by Brella account. Organization admins and event admins are not counted.

Top attendees

"These are some of the most active attendees in your event."

If nobody qualifies yet, the profile says "No data available yet".

Attendance and Top attendees cards with values

Lists

Each list shows the top 5. Top locations, Top companies and Job titles show the number of attendees and their share of Total attendees.

Card

What it counts

Attendees with most meetings

Attendees with the most accepted meetings, with the number in Meetings.

Top locations

Countries and regions from the Operates in field of attendee profiles. An attendee who lists several counts in each, so the percentages can add up to more than 100%. Unknown values show as "Not defined".

Top companies

Company names from attendee profiles. Empty names are left out.

Job titles

Job titles from attendee profiles. Empty titles are left out.

Company names and job titles count together only when they are written the same way, including capital letters.

These lists count every attendee, including members of your team who joined the event.

Use the results to plan your next step

Compare related figures before deciding what to change:

  • If many registrants have not joined, check the invitation and onboarding instructions. Analytics counts people who joined, not every registration.

  • If people join but opt out of networking, explain what networking offers. See Check networking status.

  • If people opt in but few have meetings, review the meeting instructions and networking time available in the schedule.

  • Use the top locations and job titles to plan relevant content. These lists show only the leading entries, not every attendee group.

Use Plan your event communications to choose when and how to explain the next step. Compare results with your event’s goals; the figures do not guarantee a particular outcome.

When the figures update

Brella calculates the figures from the current data each time you open the page. Reload the page to see new activity.

Limits

  • The Brella averages are fixed values, not live figures from other events.

  • Lists show the top 5 only.

  • Registrants who have not joined the event are never counted.

Troubleshooting

The Attendees with chat card is missing
Open chat is off. Turn it on in Networking > Settings > Chat & lead scanning.

Virtual, in-person and hybrid shares are missing
The event is not a hybrid event. The split shows for hybrid events only.

Total attendees is lower than the number of registrants
Analytics counts only registrants who have joined the event.
