Some admin panel actions, such as CSV imports and invitation emails, run in the background. Cloud sync shows their progress, and each job's report lists the rows that failed.
Before you start
Organization admins and event admins see all background jobs of the event, including jobs other admins started.
The cloud button appears only on event pages, and only after the event has had at least one background job.
Where to find it
The cloud button in the top bar of an event page. A number on the button shows how many jobs are running.
What Cloud sync tracks
Cloud sync shows jobs by their technical name:
EventInvitesImport: New registrant(s) > Import CSV in People > Registrants. The button is shown for invite-only events.
EventInvitesReminder: invitation emails to registrants, for example when you send reminders, after you add or import registrants, or when invitation emails are turned on.
EventSpeakersImport: Import speakers in Content > Speakers.
EventSponsorsImport: Import .csv under Import sponsors in Sponsors > Settings.
EventSponsorsBulkDelete: deleting several selected sponsors with Delete in Sponsors > Sponsors.
TimeslotsMove: moving content slots to new dates after you change the event dates in Details and choose to reschedule existing content.
ManagedMeetingsGeneration, ManagedMeetingsConversion, ManagedMeetingsDraftAcceptance and ManagedMeetingsDraftDeletion: generating and converting meetings, and accepting or deleting draft meetings, in Networking > Managed Meetings.
Follow a job
Start the import or bulk action.
Select the cloud button in the top bar. Cloud sync opens with the event's 10 most recent jobs, newest first.
Check the job's status:
Status: pending: the job hasn't reported progress yet.
Status: running: the job is in progress. The numbers in parentheses show items done and the total, for example (200 / 1000).
Status: completed: the job has finished.
with errors after the status: some items failed.
Select the job to open its Background job report. The report shows results after the job has finished.
The list updates every 15 seconds while you are on an event page. Jobs keep running if you close the list or leave the page.
Read the report
The Background job report shows the job type and its final status. Under the status it shows:
"Processed N items without errors." for the items that worked.
"There were errors with N item(s)." followed by a list headed Errors: N. Each entry starts with Error on and the row or item, then the reason.
In registrant and sponsor imports, row 1 is the first row under the header. Completely empty lines aren't counted.
Speaker import errors use the speaker's external ID instead of a row number. If that ID is blank, the report may show only Speaker.
Fix failed rows
Open the job's Background job report and note each row and reason in the Errors list.
Correct those rows in your file.
Import a file that contains only the corrected rows.
Rows that already worked are saved. Importing them again can create duplicates. See Import registrants from a CSV file.
Error emails
If a job has errors, Brella emails the admin who started it. The subject is the job name and the event name, for example "Invite import for" followed by the event name. The email links to the job's report.
What attendees see
Cloud sync is only in the admin panel. The jobs it tracks can affect attendees, for example when invitation emails go out.
Limits
Cloud sync lists only the event's 10 most recent jobs. Reports open only for jobs in that list.
The report shows results only after the job has completed.
Sponsor and speaker imports report progress only when they finish. Registrant imports report progress every 100 rows. Until a job reports progress, it shows Status: pending.
Job names are technical names, such as EventInvitesImport.
Troubleshooting
The cloud button isn't in the top bar
You're not on an event page, or the event has no background jobs yet.
A job stays on Status: pending
The job hasn't reported progress yet. Select the job: if the report shows a result, the job has finished. If the report stays empty and the job never changes to completed, contact Brella support with the event name and the time you started the job.
The report keeps loading
The job is no longer among the event's 10 most recent jobs.
"Unknown content: sponsors must have a name and media items must have a title and a URL."
A row in a sponsor import has no sponsor name and no media title and URL, for example a row of empty cells. Fill in the row or delete it, then import the corrected rows.
