Deleting a networking slot deletes every meeting booked in it without telling the participants. Deleting a matchmaking category or interest removes it from everyone who selected it: attendees, invited people and sponsor booths. Once your event is live, edit instead of deleting, or tell participants yourself.
Before you start
You need to be an event admin or an organization admin.
Neither action can be undone.
Where to find it
Networking slots: Content > Schedule > Timeslots, Delete on a row, or select rows and delete them together.
Matchmaking categories and interests: Matchmaking > Overview.
Delete a networking slot
When you delete a networking slot, Brella deletes with it:
all meetings in the slot: pending, accepted, rescheduled and drafts. They are deleted, not canceled. Nobody receives an email or a push notification, and the meetings disappear from the participants' schedules and chats.
the slot's meeting points, the times attendees blocked in it, and any session registrations and bookmarks.
Rules:
A slot with 5 or more pending, accepted or rescheduled meetings can't be deleted. Delete is disabled and the tooltip reads "This timeslot cannot be deleted because it has 5 or more accepted or pending meetings.", "This timeslot has <n> meetings." and "Please cancel these meetings before deleting the timeslot." Canceled and rejected meetings don't count. Draft meetings arranged by organizers don't count toward the button, but Brella counts them when it runs the deletion, so a slot with drafts can still be refused.
A slot with 1 to 4 meetings is deleted after you confirm "This timeslot will be deleted. This action cannot be undone" with Delete. The admin panel shows "Time slots deletion in progress...", then "Time slots deleted successfully" and Following meetings were cancelled with the requester's and receiver's name and email for each meeting. Copy this list before closing it. It is the only record of who to inform.
When you delete several slots at once, slots over the limit are skipped with "Too many meetings have been booked already." and the others are deleted.
To free a slot without deleting it, cancel its meetings one by one in Networking > Overview. Participants can then be notified. See Monitor, export and cancel meetings.
Delete a matchmaking category or interest
In Matchmaking > Overview, removing an interest asks "Are you sure? This will delete selected interest and remove it from users who have selected it!". Removing a category asks "Permanently delete this category?" and deletes all its interests.
What happens when you save:
Every attendee who selected a deleted interest loses that selection. Their other selections stay.
Removing a goal from an interest deletes the selections attendees made with that goal.
Renaming a category or an interest keeps the selections.
The interests report in Matchmaking reflects the current selections, so the deleted ones disappear from it.
Matching quality drops for the affected attendees until they pick interests again.
Only Matchmaking > Settings > Remove matchmaking empties every profile. It deletes all categories, interests and selections, and all personas, industries and functions. Its confirmation reads "Caution! This action is irreversible." and the button Delete matchmaking data. See Remove categories, interests and intents.
Limits
Deleted meetings and selections can't be restored.
Brella sends no notification for either deletion. Inform participants yourself, for example with an announcement or a custom email.
Troubleshooting
Delete is grayed out on a networking slot
The slot has 5 or more meetings that are not canceled or rejected. Cancel meetings in Networking > Overview until fewer than 5 remain, or keep the slot.
"Too many meetings have been booked already."
One of the selected slots has 5 or more meetings. It was skipped. Delete the others, then handle that slot's meetings.
