A space is a discussion board for one topic you choose. Attendees post, comment, like and follow posts in the mobile app and the web app. You create spaces in the admin panel and hide posts in the app.
Before you start
You need to be an organization admin or an event admin.
Spaces must be enabled for your event by Brella. If Content > Spaces is not in the sidebar, contact Brella support.
Attendees see the Spaces page (or the name you give it under Customization > Tabs) only while Enable spaces is on.
Warning: Deleting a space permanently deletes all its posts and comments. Hide a space instead by turning off Active.
Where to find it
Content > Spaces in the admin panel, with the tabs Spaces and Settings.
Turn Spaces on
Open Content > Spaces > Settings.
Turn on Enable spaces.
Turning it off hides the page from attendees, so they can't read or post. The setting's description reads "Turning off spaces will hide the tab from your attendees and prevent changes, but it will not delete spaces data." Spaces and posts stay in place. They come back when you turn it on again.
Create a space
Open Content > Spaces and select Create space. The Create Space drawer opens.
Enter a Name. This is the only required field.
Enter a Description. Attendees see it on the space's card.
Under Image, upload a cover image. The form notes "Recommended aspect ratio is 5:2, JPEG & PNG formats are preferred." WebP also works. You can crop the image after choosing it.
Leave Active on so the space is visible to attendees, or turn it off to prepare the space without showing it.
Select Create. The message Space created successfully confirms it.
The list shows each space with Visibility (Visible or Hidden), Space name and Post count.
Edit or hide a space
Select Edit on the space. The Edit Space drawer opens.
Change the fields. Turn off Active to hide the space and its posts from attendees; turn it on to show them again.
Select Save changes. The message Space updated successfully confirms it.
Delete a space
Select Delete on the space.
Confirm Delete in the dialog "Are you sure you want to delete this space?". The message Space removed successfully confirms it.
Warning: This deletes the space with every post and comment in it. It can't be undone.
Hide a post or a comment
Moderation happens in the app, not in the admin panel. The app shows Hide to a signed-in user whose account is an organization admin or event admin of the event.
Open Spaces (or the name you gave the page) and the space.
Open the post's or comment's menu (⋯) and select Hide. The message Post visibility updated successfully (or Reply visibility updated successfully) confirms it.
To show it again, open the menu and select Unhide.
A hidden post or comment disappears for other attendees. Its author still sees it, grayed out, with the text "This post was hidden for others by a moderator". You see hidden posts and comments the same way, so you can select Unhide at any time. Only the author can edit or delete a post or comment.
What attendees see
A Spaces page in the app's menu while Enable spaces is on. With one active space, the page opens that space directly. With several, it lists them as cards with the image, name, description and post count.
Only spaces with Active on. Hidden spaces and their posts are not loaded in the app.
Posts with text, formatting, links and one image; comments; likes; Follow to be notified of new replies. The attendee steps are in Use Spaces in the attendee help center.
Limits
The admin panel requires a Name. Up to 1,024 characters for the name and 9,999 for the description.
Images: JPEG, PNG or WebP.
Organizers can hide and unhide posts and comments, not edit or delete them.
Brella staff can moderate as well.
