Dynamic Registrants & Lists is a new way to organize event participants, replacing the current Groups functionality with a more flexible and scalable system.
Lists allow organizers to:
Manage registrants more efficiently
Control permissions and networking settings
Target communications to specific audiences
Types of Lists
There are two types of lists:
1. Ticket Type Lists
Ticket Type Lists replace the traditional "Attendee Groups" functionality. They are tied to how attendees register for your event.
Examples: General Attendees, VIP Investors, Sponsors, Press
A registrant can belong to only one Ticket Type List at a time (e.g., a person can be a VIP Investor or Press, but not both at the same time). This mirrors how ticket types typically work.
Required Membership: Every registrant must always belong to a Ticket Type List.
Every event automatically includes an All Registrants list. This list:
Is created automatically when the event is created.
Cannot be deleted.
Acts as the default list for all registrants.
If a registrant is removed from a Ticket Type List, they are not removed from the event. Instead, they are automatically returned to the All Registrants list, ensuring they always remain part of the event unless they are removed from the event entirely.
2. Custom Lists
Custom Lists allow you to organize registrants into flexible groups that are independent of their ticket type.
Unlike Ticket Type Lists, a registrant can belong to multiple Custom Lists at the same time. This makes them ideal for creating targeted audiences for specific permissions or communications without changing a registrant's ticket type.
Both Ticket Type Lists and Custom Lists can control permissions such as:
Networking access
Meeting request limits
Content visibility
Communication targeting
Schedule access
Custom page access
