Filterable Custom Fields for Speakers, Sessions, and Sponsors

Brella now supports custom fields for Speakers, Sessions, and Sponsors via API integration. This feature allows event organizers to extend data fields beyond standard options, enabling tailored filtering and enhanced attendee experiences.


How to Set Up Custom Fields

Access Custom Fields in the Admin Panel

  1. Log in to your Brella Admin Panel at https://manager.brella.io/

  2. Navigate to Custom Content > Custom Fields.

  3. Click on "Create New"


  4. Create the field by filling in the field name and the field key.
    Field name: Assign a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Industry Track").
    Field key: This is the exact identifier from the API response. Use it to map the field correctly to the API.

  5. Add the assigned category (speakers, sponsors, or sessions).


  6. Toggle on "Make filterable".

  7. You will see all the created fields. Once you save it using the "Create"

Retrieve Data via API

Custom field values must be supplied via API.

Example use case:

  • Customer syncs sponsor expertise tags from their system to Brella via API.

  • Attendees then filter sessions by these custom fields in the app.


How attendees can filter from the event app

  1. Navigate to the event from the Brella app.

  2. Click on the menu.


  3. Select the respective section from the given tabs.
    Eg: sponsors


  4. Click on "Filter" from the top right


  5. Select the filter


  6. The results will be listed.
