Use the Braindate integration

Written by Customer Success

The Braindate integration connects your Brella event to your Braindate event. Attendees open Braindate from a page in the Brella app without signing in again, and their confirmed braindates appear in their Brella schedule.

Set up the integration

Brella staff turn on the integration for each event. The admin panel has no setting for it. To set it up, ask your Brella contact.

How attendees are connected

Brella connects each attendee to your Braindate event with their name, email address, phone number, company and job title. This happens the first time the attendee opens the Braindate page. If the attendee joins with the event join code or a registration link, Brella connects them right after they join.

If you delete a registrant who has joined, Brella removes them from the Braindate event.

Brella matches the participants of each braindate to attendees who have joined your event in Brella. Attendees connected through Brella are matched by their Brella account. Attendees who used Braindate directly are matched by the email address they use in Braindate, which must be the email address of their Brella account. For email matching, the address must identify exactly one attendee who joined the event.

What attendees see

  • The Braindate page: opens Braindate inside the app, already signed in. In the web app, if you turned on Open in a new tab for the page, Braindate opens in a new browser tab. The mobile app always shows it inside the app.

  • Their braindates: each confirmed braindate appears in the attendee's schedule and in My Schedule. The title reads "Braindate: " followed by the topic. The description shows "Status: Confirmed", the participants and the meeting location.

Only the matched participants of a braindate see it in Brella. Other attendees don't. When a braindate is cancelled in Braindate, Brella removes it. When a participant leaves a group braindate, Brella removes it from that participant's schedule.

Limits

  • Only Brella can connect or disconnect Braindate. When Brella disconnects it, the braindates track and all imported braindates are removed from the schedule. Unpublish or delete the Braindate page afterwards.

  • Brella shows only confirmed braindates that have a start and end time.

Troubleshooting

An attendee's braindates are missing
Check these causes:

  • The braindate isn't confirmed yet, or it has no start and end time.

  • The attendee hasn't joined the event in Brella.

  • The attendee uses Braindate with a different email address than their Brella account.

  • The email address does not identify exactly one attendee who joined the event.
